This role is fully remote for candidates in Costa Rica and Colombia. Applicants must possess citizenship or a valid work permit from either country.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage our Secure Email Gateway (SEG) infrastructure, including the configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of platforms such as Proofpoint, Abnormal Security, and Cloudflare WAF.
  • Monitor and assess email traffic for potential security threats, including phishing attempts, malware, and other malicious activities.
  • Establish and enforce email filtering policies, spam detection protocols, and content inspection mechanisms to safeguard against email-related threats.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to integrate SEG solutions with current email systems and applications.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding email security best practices and policies.
  • Stay updated on emerging email security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry standards.
  • Engage in incident response activities related to email security breaches, including investigation, analysis, and remediation.
  • Ensure effective integration and management of Cloudflare WAF while supporting the transition to F5 WAF.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in managing Secure Email Gateway (SEG) solutions, particularly with Proofpoint and Abnormal Security.
  • Strong knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, MIME), authentication mechanisms (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and filtering techniques.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with email security tools and technologies, including anti-phishing, anti-spam, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Familiarity with Cloudflare WAF and a working understanding of F5 WAF.
  • Proficiency in M365 for SEG management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and addressing complex email security threats.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
