Job Overview

(NOT A SECURITY GUARD POSITION) As a Security Systems Installation Technician, your primary responsibility will be to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various access control systems and related devices. You will collaborate closely with our experienced lead technicians and project managers, ensuring that installations are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure systems including Access Control, IP Video Surveillance, and Intrusion Alarm Systems, along with other low voltage equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with security systems in partnership with lead technicians and engineering support.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow technicians to complete installations and projects in accordance with specifications and deadlines.
  • Maintain awareness of your role within the broader project context to ensure consistent progress.
  • Document all work accurately using our internal application, including progress photos and specific installation details.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a technician in the electronic security systems field, specifically with Access Control, IP Video, and Intrusion Alarm Systems.
  • Strong technical abilities and the capability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with a variety of security equipment brands and models.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling professional interactions with clients and team members.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Covid-19 vaccination may be required for certain key account sites.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a focus on communication, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in using email and text messaging for daily communications.
  • Capable of operating standard installation tools such as drills and saws.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in specific product lines or training in security systems installation or a related field.
  • Experience with networked security systems and their integration.
  • OSHA training.
