Security Operations Specialist

The Security Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the premises. This position involves monitoring surveillance systems, responding to security incidents, and managing security personnel to maintain a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor CCTV systems and radio communications to identify potential hazards or suspicious activities, ensuring all monitored areas are secure.
- Respond to alarms and notifications from life safety systems, coordinating with security staff as necessary.
- Handle incoming security-related calls and dispatch personnel to assist clients, guests, and employees.
- Provide critical information to emergency responders, maintaining professionalism and clarity in communication.
- Manage the issuance and collection of security equipment, including radios and identification badges.
- Document incidents and maintain accurate logs of security activities.
- Track the location and assignments of security officers during shifts to ensure compliance with protocols.
- Conduct foot patrols of designated areas to check for safety hazards, vandalism, or suspicious behavior.
- Assist in securing buildings by checking doors and windows for proper closure and locking.
- Investigate and report any unusual circumstances or hazards to the security dispatch team.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and hazard assessments as required.
- Ensure the Access Control System functions effectively, granting access as needed.
- Maintain the Key Control System to ensure proper key management.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Safety, Security, and Parking.
- Screen individuals entering restricted areas to verify their purpose and authorization.
- Manage lost and found items, providing information to patrons regarding their inquiries.
- Offer accurate information to individuals regarding operational hours and directions.
- Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks to uphold health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Guard Card.
- 3-5 years of experience in security roles is required.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
- Experience with CCTV and radio communication systems is essential.
- Ability to lift weights up to 75 lbs.
- Capability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
- Strong customer service skills and interpersonal abilities are required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with basic reporting capabilities.
- Familiarity with professional phone and email etiquette.
- Flexibility in scheduling is necessary.
