OVERVIEW

Agenda for Children is in search of a meticulous and proactive facilitator to assume the role of Manager, Program Observations & Accountability Content.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in early childhood education and have a proven track record in creating and delivering pertinent professional development content, both in virtual settings and through engaging, interactive in-person workshops.

This position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Program Quality and Improvement and will collaborate closely with various colleagues within Agenda's Center for Early Childhood Advancement (CECA) and the New Orleans Early Education Network (NOEEN).

CLASS Team Responsibilities

The Manager, Program Observations & Accountability Content is responsible for the creation, review, revision, and delivery of relevant, dynamic, and suitable content across multiple areas of early care and education. A key focus will be on providing professional development learning opportunities centered around Teachstone's Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) for early care and education teachers, program leaders, Pre-K-12 school administrators, and Agenda for Children staff and partners, utilizing both in-person and virtual platforms.

In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Program Quality & Improvement, the Manager will work closely with Agenda's CLASS Program Manager to oversee all aspects of the CLASS observation program, ensuring compliance with accountability measures mandated by the LDOE while offering comprehensive, differentiated, and intentional professional development regarding the CLASS tools employed within the New Orleans Network.

Additionally, the Manager will be tasked with providing fee-based professional development for various programs, including school-based initiatives, which may encompass the facilitation of Professional Development Workshops, Professional Learning Communities, Communities of Practice, and Coaching.

This is a full-time role, requiring office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, along with regular Saturday commitments. The position entails both in-person and virtual facilitation responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Assistant Director of Program Quality and Improvement in the planning and delivery of CLASS-focused professional development.
  • Actively participating with the professional development team in planning, assessment, and ongoing improvement initiatives for the department.
  • Facilitating communities of practice with program teachers and leaders to enhance their understanding of the CLASS tool and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation as required for professional development activities.
  • Reviewing and revising existing professional development content and workshop activities to ensure accuracy, relevance, engagement, and alignment with best practices, particularly regarding CLASS content.
  • Applying adult learning principles to professional development.
  • Creating new early care and education content and materials related to professional development on CLASS, developmentally appropriate practices, teacher-child interactions, language development, etc.
  • Developing content creation priorities based on performance data and provider feedback, under the guidance of the Assistant Director.
  • Maintaining knowledge and skills necessary for effective facilitation of professional development workshops on various early childhood topics, including CLASS.
  • Training for and obtaining certification as a CLASS Affiliate Trainer and CLASS Group Coach.
  • Conducting CLASS Observations for the NOEEN Network as required.
  • Assisting the Assistant Director in reviewing, analyzing, applying, and disseminating CLASS data to inform content development and delivery.
  • Participating in ongoing improvement efforts for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is required (an unrelated undergraduate degree with significant documented training and experience in early education is acceptable).

Three years of experience in early childhood classroom settings is necessary. Coaching or teacher mentorship experience may substitute for up to two years of classroom experience. Familiarity with CLASS Accountability tools is essential.

Demonstrated success in working with adult learners and a strong desire to enhance skills in adult education are required.

Proficiency in common office software, Google products, Zoom, and online learning tools is expected. Experience and interest in presenting and facilitating engaging workshops, both virtually and in-person, is preferred. Early childhood leadership experience (mentor, administrator, teacher leader, etc.) is also preferred.
