Job Summary

The Senior Program Manager will work in partnership with faculty and staff members of the Center for Lifespan, Tulane Personalized Health Institute, Tulane Obesity Research Center, and Southern Center for Maternal Health Equity to manage program, administrative and financial aspects of Institute activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily administrative operation, including hiring and training of staff, organizing seminars, developing newsletters and annual reports, coordinating internal and external advisory committee meetings, and assisting with the evaluation of research programs and center.
  • Coordinate other sponsored research awards under the center throughout their life cycles, including proactive facilitation and management of grant and institutional awards, drafting and submission of required reports, supporting program governance, and instituting processes to guide daily activities.
  • Monitor program progress, identify risks and issues, and suggest/implement corrective measures, coordinate projects and their interdependencies, manage the utilization of resources across projects and the Center, manage communication, clarify and communicate program priorities, track and facilitate achievement of program deliverables.
  • Compile and prepare regulatory documents for IRB submissions and liaise with necessary study personnel at other institutions, manage personnel actions (PAFs), personnel requests, and effort reporting for Center personnel.
  • Oversee all financial aspects of the center's sponsored research projects, including preparing non-technical aspects of research proposals, developing and monitoring subcontracts, preparing and forecasting budgets, preparing quarterly narrative reports, tracking billing and collections, and reconciling accounts.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience related to program management and financial management.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 5 years of experience related to program management and financial management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 years of experience in research and academic program management, preferably in a health-related scientific, research and development, or higher education setting.
