The Counseling Director will lead and manage the counseling program at Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response (STAR), ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision. This role requires a strong leader who can develop and implement procedures, identify barriers, and collaborate with the Director of Programs and Director of Grants and Operations to secure funding and resources.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Develop, monitor, and update agency procedures to ensure consistency across branches.
- Barrier Identification: Identify barriers and gaps in service delivery and work with the counseling team to develop solutions.
- Grant Funding: Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Director of Grants and Operations to seek out grant funding and other revenue streams to enhance or further develop the counseling program.
- Team Supervision: Directly supervise Counselors, including facilitating weekly team meetings, 1-1 coaching meetings, and weekly supervision with counseling interns.
- Client Services: Maintain an active caseload of STAR clients and ensure the delivery of STAR services through ongoing staff support, time management, performance management, and quality assurance.
- Commitment to Mission: Commit to carrying out STAR's mission, vision, and philosophy.

- Self-Care: Take care of yourself by knowing your personal limitations, communicating your needs to others, and asking for help when needed.
- Task Management: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and have excellent organizational skills.

- Professional Development: Commit to learning and growing both professionally and personally.
- Training: Complete, or will complete in the first year of employment, a mandatory 40 hours of sexual violence training; plus 20 hours of continuing education/training annually.
- Driver's License: Have a valid driver's license and a working, insured vehicle at the time of appointment.
Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; some evenings and weekends expected.
STAR requires all employees to consent to and successfully complete a full background investigation, which includes a criminal history check and fingerprinting.
