Overview:


The Quality Assurance Lead will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to address defects, bugs, and other potential challenges, ensuring that products align with customer specifications.

Job Summary:


We are in search of a dedicated Quality Assurance Lead with a robust background in process enhancement to join our team at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA).

In this role, you will report to the Quality Manager and work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of quality objectives, elevate product quality, and contribute to the success of the world's leading lithium-ion battery initiative.


The Quality Assurance Lead will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to troubleshoot defects, bugs, and other potential issues while ensuring products meet customer specifications.


Essential Duties:
Oversee a team of quality technicians, inspectors, and team leaders.

Establish quality control processes and procedures to guarantee compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.


Maintain quality management systems and adherence to QMS standards, including document control, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and internal audit programs.


Develop and guide a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors to perform in-process and final product inspections, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to swiftly identify and resolve quality issues.

Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends and implement countermeasures.

Ensure the effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and enhance product quality.

Provide quality-related training to frontline quality associates.

Communicate quality objectives, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to management and team members.

Ensure adherence to plant policies and procedures by direct reports.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:


To safeguard health and safety in the workplace and protect our employees, wearing PPE is mandatory for certain roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications:

Education:

Basic Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:
Associate degree in a technical or business field

Essential Qualifications:


A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management roles within the battery manufacturing or other relevant high-volume manufacturing industries.

Proficient understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF) and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).

Analytical and hands-on problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization's production processes.

Conflict resolution skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Proven agility in all levels of work processes.

Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Collaborative nature with strong team-building skills and willingness to learn from and accept guidance from others.

Must possess working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:
ASQ Certification

Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Alignment with Panasonic's seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude).

Demonstrated understanding in PECNA HPC.
