Overview:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leading and directing the quality department. This position is responsible for fostering the development of the team in all aspects of quality assurance.

Collaboration with the Quality & Engineering Manager is essential to ensure that the department delivers comprehensive support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are essential and may be adjusted or supplemented as necessary:

- Oversee, mentor, and guide the quality team to ensure that:
- All inspection tasks (initial and final) are executed accurately and promptly.
- New product specifications are met ahead of schedule and thoroughly reviewed.
- Calibration of gauges is consistently maintained.
- Product quality audits are conducted at the required intervals.
- Incoming inspections are performed as needed.
- Opportunities for improvement are identified, and training requirements are assessed and implemented.

- Conduct daily reviews and log nonconforming product data into the designated software, including:
- Evaluation of nonconformance and determination of actions in collaboration with production supervisors or engineering.
- Assessment of the completeness of nonconforming material tags and daily documentation of discrepancies for production supervisors and operations management.

- Verification of effective root cause analysis and corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate nonconformance.

- Initiate processes for addressing customer and supplier non-conformances, providing necessary information to relevant personnel or customers.

- Analyze returned products from customers to determine appropriate actions and follow up with production to identify root causes and corrective measures.

- Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the quality department and the Quality Management System.
- Manage gaging requirements for both new and existing projects.

- Oversee the internal audit system, ensuring timely completion of audits and submission of findings and corrective action requests to management.

- Complete documentation for new parts, including ballooned drawings, inspection checklists, operator instructions, SPC charts, process flow diagrams, FMEA, control plans, dimensional layout requirements, part submission warrants, capability studies, and measurement system analysis.

- Collaborate with customers on approval processes for dimensional and cosmetic deviations, discuss potential engineering modifications to enhance manufacturability, and address any concerns regarding shipping preservation or product quality.

- Conduct supplier audits.
- Enter monthly metrics and review cost of quality data.
- Analyze Statistical Process Control data for potential process enhancements.

- Assist with various quality-related tasks as required, including CMM programming.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Preferred degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Assurance; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least five years of experience in Quality Assurance is preferred.
- Familiarity with CMM programming and associated software is advantageous.
- Understanding of APQP requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge of gauging techniques and metrology is beneficial.
- Awareness of ISO 9000 standards is preferred.
- Strong independent thinking, organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Physical Requirements:


- Ability to sit for extended periods, navigate throughout the office and machine shop environment, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
The employee will primarily work in a laboratory setting, with occasional access to the machine shop floor. Travel may be required for customer visits, which may involve overnight stays if necessary.
