The Role
As a Senior Account Director at Lumen, you will oversee business development initiatives for prominent named accounts and/or specific market segments, facilitating the expansion and growth of new business opportunities. You will be responsible for coordinating and strategizing on assigned key accounts, as well as developing and implementing comprehensive account plans.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify, bid on, negotiate, and finalize new sales opportunities to meet and surpass established sales and revenue targets.
- Create detailed account plans and strategies to secure new business from both new and existing accounts.
- Enhance and deepen relationships with current customers to strengthen strategic positioning and retain existing revenue while pursuing additional business.
- Provide insights to sales management regarding trends and changes within the customer's organization, making recommendations for future actions to improve the company's standing with the customer.
- Deliver accurate and detailed weekly forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the company's entire product suite, with potential in-depth expertise in specific products and/or services.
- Manage account responsibilities, including solution creation, offering configurations, order issuance, service delivery, service management, and revenue recognition.
- Exhibit a balance of strategic and tactical thought leadership.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- A minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the technology or telecommunications sector.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape within the telecom industry.
- Proven strong communication, writing, and formal presentation skills, along with proficiency in closing sales.
- Self-driven, proactive, results-oriented professional capable of working with minimal supervision.
Proficient in MS Office Suite:
- Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to spend at least 50% of the time conducting sales activities outside of the office.
Compensation
The starting salary for this position varies based on the employee's primary work location. Typically, employees do not begin at the top of the range, as compensation is contingent upon individual qualifications.
Location-Based Pay Ranges
$118,130 - $157,500 in specific states.
As with the pay range variety based on regional factors, specific offers are determined by various elements such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
