The Role
As a Senior Account Director at Lumen, you will oversee business development initiatives for prominent named accounts and/or specific market segments, driving the expansion and growth of new business opportunities. You will be accountable for the coordination and strategic direction of assigned key accounts, as well as the comprehensive development and execution of the account plan.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify, bid on, negotiate, and finalize new sales opportunities to achieve and surpass established sales and revenue targets.
- Develop detailed account plans and strategies to secure new business from both new and existing accounts.
- Enhance and deepen relationships with current customers to strengthen strategic positioning and retain existing revenue while pursuing additional business.
- Provide insights to sales management regarding trends and changes within the customer's organization, recommending future actions to improve the company's standing with the customer.
- Maintain an accurate and detailed weekly forecast of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the company's entire product suite, with potential in-depth expertise in specific products and/or services.
- Manage account responsibilities, including solution creation, offering configuration, order issuance, service delivery, service management, and revenue recognition.
- Exhibit a balance of strategic and tactical thought leadership.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- A minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the technology or telecommunications sector.
- Strong understanding of the competitive landscape within the telecom industry.
- Excellent communication, writing, and formal presentation skills, with proven proficiency in closing sales.
- Self-driven, proactive, results-oriented professional capable of working with minimal supervision.
Proficient in MS Office Suite:
- Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to spend at least 50% of time conducting sales activities outside of the office.
Compensation
The starting salary for this position varies based on the employee's primary work location. Typically, employees do not begin at the top of the salary range, as compensation is contingent upon individual qualifications.
Location-Based Pay Ranges
$118,130 - $157,500 in specified states.
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Individual pay is determined by factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
