Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide a wide range of administrative support services, including budget preparation and control, record-keeping, and statistical reporting.
- Communication and Liaison: Serve as a liaison with other departments and external parties to accomplish objectives and complete projects.
- Research and Analysis: Research, locate, and compile information for reports, and assemble and categorize figures for computation and calculations.
- Financial Management: Prepare and monitor budgets and grant allocations, and maintain accruals.
- Human Resources: Maintain departmental employee files, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Event Planning: Assist in the planning and logistical arrangements for forums, conferences, seminars, meetings, and visiting professorships.
- Problem-Solving: Investigate, evaluate, and resolve typical administrative or operational problems or situations affecting the work unit.
- Supply Management: Ensure adequate restock of supplies for the department, and requisition merchandise from suppliers.
- Travel Arrangements: Make travel arrangements and accommodations, and prepare travel reimbursements and expense reports.
- Mail and Telephone Management: Screen and prioritize incoming mail for needed action, and respond to mail where appropriate.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience (Bachelor's preferred).
- Experience: 4+ years of related administrative or business experience.
