Position Overview:

The Global Procurement team plays a pivotal role in Micron's expansion, ensuring optimal total cost and resilient supply chains through innovative predictive capabilities, risk assessment, and a commitment to sustainability and diversity. As a Senior Procurement Cost Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include developing and reviewing cost estimation models, gathering, analyzing, and summarizing cost data related to Tool Installation and cleanroom-specific MEP works, with a strong foundation in CSA and construction-related activities. You will also be expected to adapt to cost analysis for various sectors, including equipment, spare parts, and facility expense projects. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will benchmark costs across different sites and regions, creating comprehensive cost models that encompass labor and materials. Your extended responsibilities will involve establishing and enhancing systems for efficient cost data collection and analysis, streamlining the decision-making process. You will cultivate relationships across the organization to support your data collection, system development, and benchmarking initiatives. Your analytical insights will provide valuable cost analysis results to aid Global and Site teams in their decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct category cost analysis, focusing on construction and encompassing equipment, spare parts, facility expenses, and tool installation projects.
  • Perform price and should-cost analysis to support category strategy and business negotiations.
  • Identify and assess available reporting data to ensure alignment with business processes, data quality, and requirements.
  • Conduct quality assessments of data and reports, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Explore opportunities to correlate data analysis with business challenges.
  • Create concise dashboards that present operational data in an accessible format for stakeholders, including partners and management.
  • Collaborate closely with Category Managers, Program Managers, and other functional teams to
    • execute global and regional process and IT improvement initiatives.
    • identify industry benchmarks and conduct market analysis to share insights with business partners and leadership.
    • leverage information systems tools to enhance processes and address challenges.
  • Demonstrate a structured approach by
    • managing central repository systems.
    • tracking prices and costs across equipment, materials, labor, and rates.
    • analyzing budget versus actual cost variations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with Program and/or Category Managers to
    • provide updates on strategic projects and initiatives.
    • present data and market summaries to leadership to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Schedule regular reviews of data and reports with category teams to gather feedback and identify future needs.
  • Present and clarify project/category data to team members, driving discussions and action items related to business direction.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cost management, quantity surveying, tool installation, pricing, or business analytics, particularly in Cleanroom/Hospital/Pharmaceutical MEP Process Utilities Systems and CSA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and digital literacy, including data analysis, Excel reporting, trends, pivot tables, SQL, and Python; experience with visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, utilizing analytic tools and financial targets to incorporate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and benchmarking concepts.
  • Experience in applying should-cost methodology.
  • Excellent communication, consulting, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to create concise PowerPoint presentations.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering - Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical.
