Job Description:

  • Hybrid - 4 Onsite 1 Remote - Shift - Mon-Fri 8:30AM - 5PM.
  • The Procurement and Planning Specialist is primarily tasked with the acquisition of both indirect and direct materials, ensuring timely delivery and confirmation to support the Master Product Schedule.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this role.
  • Accountable for the provision of all materials necessary for production.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to materials, facilitating communication with internal stakeholders (Quality Assurance, Operations, Scheduling, Customer Service, and Finance).
  • Lead investigations concerning material discrepancies and related events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Procurement Duties:

  • Generate and issue purchase orders (PO) to suppliers in accordance with approved protocols, ensuring timely approvals.
  • Manage lead times and expedite costs with suppliers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive tracker for order status, PO status, lead times, and receipt of goods.
  • Source new suppliers and vendors based on input from relevant teams.
  • Ensure receipt of all necessary documentation for materials (Specifications, Instructions/Manuals, Certificates of Analysis, Material Safety Data Sheets, etc.).
  • Monitor and adjust open POs and supplier commitments, resolving discrepancies to ensure timely payments.
  • Acquire quotes for materials as requested by team members.
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement for significant purchases to ensure compliance with necessary agreements.
  • Support Capital Expenditure processes.

Planning Responsibilities:

  • Conduct raw material planning for projects.
  • Maintain inventory levels in line with company policies and objectives, adjusting safety stock levels as necessary.
  • Manage Item Masters, Bills of Materials, routes, and other supply chain data.
  • Assist in launch activities for new products as directed.
  • Review excess and obsolete inventory, providing data to seek reimbursement for customer-owned materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels to meet targets, adjusting purchasing activities accordingly.
  • Process materials for destruction when obsolete or expired.
  • Facilitate the shipment of materials, including samples, and prepare necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, including production planning, inventory control, and procurement.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a strong understanding of its controls and requirements.
  • 1 year of experience with MRP systems.
  • APICS Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and act on MRP reports and inventory status reports.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Organized with good record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated independent judgment and analytical skills.
