Role Summary

The Technical Project Manager plays a pivotal role within the project management team, which encompasses Project Managers, Software Project Managers, and Sub-Project Managers. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines to effectively oversee the technical scope and validation of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directs the technical design and integration processes to meet the standards set by BEUMER Group and contractual obligations.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination with customers, stakeholders, and partners regarding technical project elements.
  • Establishes, plans, and supervises system simulations and testing to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborates with the project manager to maintain transparent communication regarding technical and commercial aspects of the project.
  • Manages technical interfaces, ensuring effective communication with clients and external suppliers.
  • Shares responsibility for project cost, timeline, and quality, assessing the technical and financial implications of decisions.
  • Works closely with the procurement team to develop and review detailed purchase orders, including technical specifications.
  • Assists in the requirements management process, focusing on technical specifications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Evaluates requirements, formulates technical specifications, and assesses the impact of technical changes.
  • Leads the identification and mitigation of technical project risks.
  • Reviews technical documentation prior to submission for client approval.
  • Participates in gate/sub-gate meetings to ensure the fulfillment of technical tasks and captures lessons learned.
  • Contributes to the quality assurance of final operation and maintenance documentation for customer support.
  • Provides technical assistance during installation, commissioning, and final testing phases.
  • Engages directly in the specification approval, design, production, installation, and commissioning processes.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, installation, commissioning, and testing of logistics or similar technology systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading project teams and coordinating with various project disciplines.

Certifications

  • PMP Certification is mandatory or must be obtained within one year of employment.
Commitment
  • Demonstrates goal-setting abilities and a genuine concern for team success.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required, potentially up to 50% of the time.
