Position Overview:

To further our mission of creating innovative and high-quality refrigeration solutions for the US and Canadian markets, we are in search of a dynamic, imaginative, and driven engineer to spearhead engineering initiatives. The primary responsibility of this role is to execute projects that yield unique, innovative, and attractive features for Midea-branded refrigeration products. This is a full-time role that may require international travel, including at least one annual trip to China.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in innovative idea generation activities to transform concepts into actionable designs.
  • Develop technologies to enhance the intellectual property portfolio related to refrigeration products.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to inspire the development of new features and improvements for refrigeration products.
  • Collaborate with a global engineering team to integrate concepts into the refrigeration product roadmap for future development.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach to concept development through prototyping and laboratory testing to validate feasibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the development of refrigeration products.
  • Proficient in using 3D solid modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering product development processes.
  • Experience in identifying and developing new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with innovation processes and idea generation methodologies.
  • Experience in collaborative engineering environments and open innovation.
  • Hands-on capability in prototyping and rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined in achieving objectives.
  • A strong desire for continuous learning and self-improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills in structural and thermal simulation.
  • Knowledge of patents and technology trends in refrigeration.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for plastic and metal components.
  • Experience leveraging consumer insights to guide product development.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
  • Understanding of intellectual property and its protection.
