The Product Development team employs design thinking and user experience methodologies to produce groundbreaking products and services that exceed customer expectations. We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented professional to lend essential expertise in enhancing our manufacturing operations. This role involves daily analysis of incoming warranty claims data, reviewing customer and dealership feedback, categorizing claims appropriately, communicating with dealerships regarding parts and repair diagnostics, participating in customer callbacks to ensure comprehensive understanding of feedback, examining returned parts for root cause analysis, and formulating Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will...
  • Assist the assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analysis, and other quality-related initiatives.
  • Oversee engineering commodity modifications for upcoming minor product launches and spearhead cost reduction efforts in current production vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the Variability Reduction Team (VRT) on specific subsystems and engage closely with supplier partners to address quality issues.
Your Contributions...
  • Lead engineering trials and implement running changes for subsystems, issuing engineering alerts and pursuing authorization for engineering concerns to support quality objectives.
  • Engage with technical experts and functional team members to drive resolutions and develop corrective actions aimed at enhancing product quality.
  • Maintain quality documentation at the subsystem or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level (SAQ, Top 20 concerns).
  • Present findings to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report outs, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews).
Qualifications

Ideal Candidates Will Have...
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an automotive manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications...
  • Six Sigma Training (Black Belt or Green Belt Certification).
  • Adeptness in working within a fast-paced environment to facilitate quick decision-making.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems.
  • Some experience in electrical systems.

This position falls within salary grades 5-8.
