Position Overview

To support our core mission of creating cutting-edge and high-quality refrigeration solutions for the US and Canadian markets, we are in search of a dynamic, innovative, and enthusiastic engineer to spearhead engineering initiatives. The primary objective is to execute projects that yield unique, innovative, and attractive features for Midea-branded refrigeration products. This role is full-time and may require international travel, including at least one annual trip to China.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in innovation ideation processes to transform concepts into actionable designs.
  • Advance technology to broaden the intellectual property portfolio for refrigeration products.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to inspire the development of new features and enhancements for refrigeration products.
  • Collaborate with a global engineering team to formulate concepts and integrate them into the refrigeration product roadmap for future execution.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach to concept development through prototyping and laboratory testing to validate feasibility.
  • Conduct analysis and identify root causes of quality concerns related to the thermal efficiency of refrigeration units.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the development of refrigeration products.
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering product development methodologies.
  • Experience in identifying and developing new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with innovation processes and ideation techniques.
  • Experience in collaborative engineering environments and open innovation.
  • Hands-on prototyping skills and experience with rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined in task completion.
  • A keen desire to learn and the ability to self-educate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills in structural and thermal simulation.
  • Knowledge of patents and technological trends in refrigeration.
  • Familiarity with plastic part manufacturing and metal fabrication processes.
  • Experience utilizing consumer insights to guide product development.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property rights and protection.
