Position Overview

In alignment with our mission to develop cutting-edge and high-quality refrigeration solutions for the North American market, we are in search of a dynamic, innovative, and enthusiastic engineer to spearhead engineering initiatives. The primary objective is to execute projects that yield unique, innovative, and appealing features for Midea-branded refrigeration products. This is a full-time role that may involve international travel, including at least one annual trip to China.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in innovation ideation activities to transform concepts into actionable designs.
  • Advance technology to broaden the intellectual property portfolio related to refrigeration products.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to inspire the development of new features and enhancements for refrigeration solutions.
  • Collaborate with a global engineering team to refine concepts and integrate them into the future product roadmap.
  • Employ a hands-on approach to concept development through prototyping and laboratory testing to validate feasibility.
  • Conduct analysis and identify root causes of quality issues pertaining to thermal performance in refrigeration units.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the development of refrigeration products.
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering product development methodologies.
  • Experience in identifying and developing new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with innovation processes and ideation techniques.
  • Experience in collaborative engineering environments and open innovation.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined in task completion.
  • A strong desire for continuous learning and self-improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structural and thermal simulation.
  • Knowledge of patents and technology trends in the refrigeration sector.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for plastic and metal components.
  • Ability to leverage consumer insights to inform product development.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
  • Understanding of intellectual property rights and protection.
