Position Overview

To bolster our mission of developing cutting-edge and high-quality refrigeration solutions for the North American market, we are in search of a dynamic, inventive, and enthusiastic engineer to spearhead engineering initiatives. The primary goal is to execute projects that yield distinctive, innovative, and appealing features for Midea-branded refrigeration products. This role is full-time and may involve international travel, including at least one annual trip to China.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in innovative idea generation to transform concepts into actionable designs.
  • Advance technology to broaden the intellectual property portfolio related to refrigeration products.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to inspire the development of new features and enhancements for refrigeration solutions.
  • Collaborate with a global engineering team to refine concepts and integrate them into the refrigeration product roadmap for future rollout.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach to concept development through prototyping and laboratory testing to validate feasibility.
  • Diagnose and address quality issues associated with the thermal performance of refrigeration units.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the development of refrigeration products.
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering product development methodologies.
  • Experience in identifying and developing new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with innovation processes and idea generation techniques.
  • Experience in collaborative engineering environments and open innovation.
  • Hands-on prototyping skills and familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined in task completion.
  • A keen desire to learn and the ability to self-educate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills in structural and thermal simulation.
  • Knowledge of patents and technology trends in refrigeration.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for plastic and metal components.
  • Experience utilizing consumer insights to guide product development.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
  • Understanding of intellectual property rights and protection.
