Overview:

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:


Extensive high-level analytical and operational experience in executing program/project implementations, which may encompass: scheduling, cost estimation, constructability assessments, dispute resolution, claims analysis, or commissioning activities.

Demonstrated career progression and expertise in construction management, project oversight, engineering design, or related disciplines. Proven experience in supervising mid-sized teams.

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES:
Project assignments include on-site client representation, project documentation, estimating, scheduling, plan reviews, quality assurance, and record research. Capable of leading efforts on mid- to large-scale projects, frequently initiating client interactions and serving as a primary liaison. Responsible for adhering to project budgets and providing leadership within project teams.

Foster positive and productive working relationships with peers, superiors, and subordinates.

Participate in the recruitment and recommendation of candidates to fill vacancies and enhance workforce capabilities.


Mentor and facilitate the transfer of technical knowledge to staff, ensuring the sharing of expertise from senior personnel to those with less experience.

Manage, direct, and coordinate the work of assigned technical and administrative personnel.

Monitor the progress and quality of work produced by others assigned to him/her. Inform the Project Manager/Construction Manager regarding the performance of assigned staff.

Analyze and optimize both internal and external processes.

Conduct site visits, identify potential engineering challenges, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations to the Project Manager/Construction Manager.

Offer subject matter technical engineering expertise and support, reviewing the technical work of others.

Adjust workload to accommodate changes and strive to meet deadlines.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:


Engage in business development, participate in marketing initiatives, actively contribute to company projects, and manage small to mid-sized projects.

May prepare, monitor, and manage client project budgets. May provide training to less experienced personnel.

Attend and participate in professional association meetings; stay informed about new trends and innovations in civil engineering.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

Advanced degree preferred.

Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

Other specific certifications such as CCM, CCE, PSP, CxA, CCP, CEM.


Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, construction management, and project controls, with specialized knowledge in areas including scheduling, cost estimation, documentation, contract administration, and construction techniques.

Solid understanding of all services offered by the company.

Basic data processing principles as they relate to engineering problem-solving.

Engineering mathematics and statistical analysis techniques.

Construction methods and practices.

Knowledge of state and federal regulations, construction codes, and safety practices relevant to the work.

Basic project management and supervisory principles.

Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficiency with the company's diverse services. Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Operates at an expert level in one or more service areas with final work products.


Ability to understand technical jargon and translate complex engineering concepts into clear and concise reports.

Crisis management and problem resolution skills.

Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, assess the consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations to support organizational goals.


Proficiency with various software applications, including Microsoft Office, CADD, BIM platforms (such as Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk 360), graphics, scheduling (Primavera Project Planner or Suretrak Project Manager), and cost estimating (RS Means CostWorks).

Ability to analyze and optimize internal and external processes.

Skilled in preparing clear, concise, and accurate reports and presentations.

Apply engineering principles and techniques to solve engineering challenges.


Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and effectively represent the Owner/Client.


Ability to understand and interpret engineering construction plans, specifications, contract documents, complex technical and legal documents, maps, and technical drawings.

Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds (occasionally) and 20 pounds (frequently).


Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to safely navigate construction sites with uneven terrain.

GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY:
Receives overall guidance on emphasis and approach from the Construction Manager or Project Manager.

Generally able to work independently and determine solutions.

Provides training to less experienced personnel.

Manages project profitability and forecasts budgets.

Oversees the utilization of team member subordinates.

SUPERVISORY:
Capable of supervising individuals and teams.
