Hours: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

Full Time/Benefit Eligible
In this position, you will:
Play a crucial role in the patient care continuum, from specimen accessioning through various staining techniques to create slides for microscopic analysis.
Maintain thorough documentation of all quality control and preventive maintenance activities.
Engage in inventory management, process enhancement initiatives, and other projects as required.
Contribute to the digital slide scanning process.
Support staff development and training as directed by the laboratory manager.
Address technical inquiries and concerns from staff, pathologists, and clients to the laboratory manager.
Communicate effectively with team members, the laboratory director, and management.
Identify when troubleshooting is necessary to ensure optimal specimen quality.
Assist in upholding compliance with the laboratory's standard operating procedures and quality management system.
Work in a dynamic laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
Promote safety, compliance, and quality control.
Qualifications:
At minimum, graduation from a Histotechnology program accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS AND HT (ASCP) certification.
One year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing.
Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent organization.
Strong reading, writing, and analytical capabilities.
Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, processors, stainers, microscopes, microtomes, and more.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of laboratory training or experience in a high-volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience.

This role involves routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
