Position Summary
Our pharmacy division is dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service and addressing the pharmaceutical needs of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and specialized care institutions across the nation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess physician medication orders for suitability regarding medication type, dosage, potential interactions, and administration routes. Provide recommendations for therapeutic adjustments to physicians and healthcare staff as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive patient database that includes relevant medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and current medications, including over-the-counter products and home remedies.
- Ensure that necessary laboratory tests for monitoring high-risk conditions are ordered, reviewed, and communicated with the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to offer clinical and technical assistance as required.
- Document all interactions with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members, as well as patients and their families, in the medical records.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of pharmaceuticals and biologicals.
- Obtain and maintain all necessary documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Notify the Pharmacy Manager of any medication-related errors.
- Assist facility staff with procedures related to the safe and effective management of medications.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care settings.
- Licenses/Certifications: As mandated by regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Detail-oriented, goal-driven, team-oriented, with strong verbal communication skills.
