Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conducts a comprehensive range of clinical laboratory tests and examinations across all laboratory sections.
  • Collects blood samples from patients.
  • Assesses specimens received for testing to ensure their suitability.
  • Informs physicians or nurse practitioners regarding rejected specimens.
  • Processes specimens for laboratory tests and examinations in all sections of the laboratory information system.
  • Inputs and verifies test results.
  • Provides administrative support for laboratory staff, including managing incoming and outgoing laboratory reports, maintaining filing systems, and preparing monthly statistical reports.
  • Adheres to established laboratory protocols for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting, and record-keeping of patient results.
  • Performs routine maintenance on all laboratory instruments.
  • Conducts quality control checks and informs the Supervisor of any issues and corrective measures taken.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists the lead medical technologist with administrative tasks.
  • Manages supply inventory.
  • Handles insurance verification and claims processing.
  • Facilitates training for nursing and medical assistant staff.
  • Oversees lab log clearance and daily checks.
  • Manages exam room operations.
  • Supervises CLIA compliance.
  • Assists in training medical technologists.
