Job Description:

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the Administrative Assistant III position within the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP). The FGP is a vital component of the department's mission to provide support and services to individuals and families in need.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide complex administrative support to the FGP team, including responding to inquiries, collecting and entering program data, and preparing reports and documents.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the FGP service area, including maintaining and updating files, and serving as a point of contact in the absence of the FGP Supervisor.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment efforts, including scheduling speaking engagements, printing applications and program fliers, and ordering promotional items.
  • Prepare and disseminate program information, including fliers, newsletters, invitations, and certificates.
  • Attend required conferences and training sessions as designated by the FGP Manager.
  • Perform general office duties, including ordering supplies and answering phone calls.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of office and administrative practices and procedures.
  • Skills in operating a computer and software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to review work for accuracy and make arithmetical computations.
