Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Sales Counselor to join our team at AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. As a Travel Sales Counselor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel sales and support experiences to our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Service: Sell international and domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail, and air travel to our members.
  • Research and Comparison: Research, evaluate, and compare appropriate AAA Travel Partner packages to match up with member needs for the purpose of delivering exceptional member experiences in every transaction.
  • Travel Industry Knowledge: Stay current with world events and latest travel industry developments and trends, and provide relevant information to members.
  • Document Processing: Process and interpret travel documents for members purchasing travel products with AAA and inform them of governmental requirements.
  • Customer Engagement: Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
  • Cross-Selling: Cross-sell products and services, such as insurance (P&C, Life), new membership accounts, etc.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, 2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services, and experience working with sales and service standards and goals.
  • Travel Industry Certification: Travel Institute certification as CTA, CTC, or CTIE (preferred).
  • Language Skills: Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Work Environment
  • Office Environment: Works in an office environment sitting at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: May travel by car, plane, or other form of transportation to attend business meetings or conferences.
Compensation

Target compensation range: $48,000 - $72,254.00 per year. This role is subject to an incentive plan that includes commissions and/or piece rate bonuses. While top performers earn more, we expect most employees to earn between $0 - $38,000 annually in incentives, contingent on performance.
