Job Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for managing all front-of-house operations, including welcoming guests, responding to inquiries, and facilitating check-ins and check-outs. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities

The following outlines the primary duties associated with this position:

  • Guest Interaction: Greet all guests and visitors with a friendly demeanor, assessing their needs and providing appropriate assistance.
  • Call Management: Answer incoming calls in a professional manner, maintaining a positive attitude and directing calls to the appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Data Management: Input and update guest information related to registration, billing, and room assignments.
  • Guest Services: Address guest requests, such as making reservations and providing recommendations for local attractions.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor room availability and manage inventory effectively.
  • Financial Procedures: Ensure compliance with hotel credit policies and manage cash drawer security.
  • Account Monitoring: Keep track of guest accounts and report any irregularities to management.
  • Audit Responsibilities: Conduct shift audits and balance daily transactions.
  • Emergency Procedures: Be knowledgeable about and follow emergency protocols.
  • Reception Area Maintenance: Ensure the reception area is clean and organized at all times.
Additional Duties
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by management.
  • Perform other tasks as required to support hotel operations.
Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with computer systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with a positive and approachable attitude.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of handling challenging situations with composure and professionalism.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a hotel front desk role is preferred.
  • Training in guest relations is an advantage.
Language Proficiency
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer operation.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive movements, including walking and bending.
