SUMMARY:
The Event Service Specialist is tasked with overseeing the service of all events and related food and beverage operations. This role requires adherence to established protocols for the handling, cleaning, and disposal of food and beverages. The Event Service Specialist will contribute to upholding the standards of United Service Companies.

This position demands a commitment to delivering outstanding service to both internal and external clients consistently. The individual will embody the culture of United Service Companies while promoting the organization as a premier destination and employer of choice.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
Ensure familiarity with the proper maintenance and use of equipment, utilizing it solely for its intended purpose.
Anticipate client needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of the time of day or workload.
Foster positive guest relations at all times.
Be well-versed in all company services/features and local attractions to accurately address guest inquiries.
Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
Monitor and uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of designated work areas.
Possess complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned functions, including:
- Pre-event preparations.
- Detailed menu selections, major ingredients, presentation standards, and garnishing methods.
- Characteristics of wines and champagne ordered.
- Pricing for specified bar selections.
- Station assignments and table arrangements.
- Group details, function type, and expected attendance.
- Scheduled service hours.
- Special requests and arrangements.
- Order of service and traffic flow within the venue.
- VIP considerations.

Maintain thorough knowledge of and strictly adhere to state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated individuals.

Understand both P.O.S. and manual systems.

Complete pre-event preparations:

- Verify quality and quantity of all stock and supplies using a checklist.
- Requisition necessary supplies and transport them to the service area.
- Prepare tables according to service standards, including folding napkins and setting linens.
- Arrange all condiments and beverages as required.
- Ensure an adequate supply of silverware, glassware, and chinaware for service.
- Prepare cold food items as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Assess cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and rectify any inefficiencies.
- Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with seating.
- Take beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques as specified.
- Accurately record orders following departmental procedures.
- Retrieve and serve beverages to guests.
- Open and serve wine and champagne.
- Prepare various coffee types.
- Serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with function requirements.
- Clear each course following established procedures.
- Remove all items, linens, and equipment from the function area as designated.
- Set up, monitor, refresh, and dismantle coffee breaks, receptions, and buffet tables according to group specifications.

Complete closing duties:
- Break down all goods as specified.
- Clean all assigned equipment.
- Restock items for future service.
- Properly store all reusable goods.
- Transport dirty linens to Laundry.
- Marry and stock all condiments.
- Secure storage areas.

Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies and procedures.

The associate is accountable for all responsibilities associated with this role and any additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Minimum one year of customer service experience required.
At least six months of food and beverage experience required.
Banquet or catering experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
Valid Driver's License required.
Ability to read, write, and speak English is essential.
Must possess a valid OLCC card and Food Handler's card.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Must be detail-oriented and able to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent listening and communication skills are necessary.
Professional appearance and demeanor are required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be capable of effectively interacting with guests and colleagues.
Ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Knowledge of the food and beverage industry is essential.
A passion for creating exceptional experiences for all guests is crucial.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in various weather conditions (rain, wind, sun, heat).
Ability to work indoors or outdoors.
Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to bend, squat, push, and pull frequently.
Occasional climbing of stairs and walking on uneven surfaces is required.
Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently.
