The Event Service Specialist is tasked with the delivery of all banquet services and related food and beverage operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
Understand the proper maintenance and use of equipment, utilizing it only as intended.
Anticipate client needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of the time of day or workload.
Foster positive guest relations consistently.
Be well-versed in all company services, features, and local attractions to accurately address guest inquiries.
Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
Monitor and uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of designated work areas.
Possess complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned functions, including:
- Pre-function sidework.
- Detailed menu selections, major ingredients, appearance, texture, quality standards, garnish, and presentation methods.
- Specific characteristics of wines and champagne ordered.
- Pricing for designated bar selections.
- Station assignments and table arrangements.
- Group names, function types, and expected attendance.
- Scheduled service hours.
- Special requests and arrangements.
- Order of service and traffic flow in the room.
- VIPs.

Maintain thorough knowledge of and strictly adhere to state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated individuals, and drunk driving.

Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems.

Complete pre-function sidework:

- Verify quality and quantity of all stock and supplies using a checklist.
- Requisition necessary supplies and transport them to the service area.
- Fold napkins and set linens on tables.
- Arrange tables according to service standards.
- Set up all condiments and beverages (non-alcoholic).
- Ensure an adequate supply of silverware, glassware, and chinaware for service.
- Prepare cold food items as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Check cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and service areas; rectify any inefficiencies.
- Set up side stations as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating.
- Take guests' beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques as specified.
- Record orders following departmental service procedures.
- Input orders into the system; document orders legibly when the system is down or collect tickets as specified.
- Retrieve and serve alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Open and serve wine and champagne.
- Prepare various coffee types.
- Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with function requirements.
- Clear each course following established procedures.
- Remove all tabletop items, linens, and equipment from the function room as designated.
- Set up, monitor, refresh, and break down coffee breaks, receptions, and buffet tables as per group requirements.

Complete closing side duties:
- Break down all goods as specified.
- Clean all assigned equipment.
- Restock items for subsequent service.
- Properly store all reusable goods.
- Transport all dirty linens to Laundry.
- Marry and stock all condiments.
- Secure storage areas.

Adhere to payment, cash handling, and credit policies and procedures.

Associates are accountable for all duties of this position and any other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- Minimum one year of customer service experience required.
- At least six months of food and beverage experience required.
- Banquet or catering experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must possess a valid OLCC card.
- Must possess a valid Food Handler's card.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Must accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
