Role SummaryWe are experiencing significant growth at our gastroenterology office and endoscopy suite located in Northbrook and Libertyville. To support our expansion, we are looking for a motivated and personable Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team. While prior experience is valued, we are eager to train the right individual who demonstrates enthusiasm for learning and contributing to our thriving practice.
Key Responsibilities- Open and close the office, ensuring a clean and welcoming reception area, reviewing messages, and maintaining lobby refreshments.
- Welcome patients and facilitate the check-in process, including verifying insurance, explaining office policies and billing, and outlining non-covered benefits.
- Assist with the check-out process, scheduling follow-up appointments, aiding patients in setting up the patient portal, processing payments, and providing necessary information.
- Communicate with patients, manage appointment scheduling via phone and email, and send appointment reminders.
- Oversee medical records management, including procurement, organization, scanning into charts, and fulfilling record requests.
- Maintain a tracking system for procedure, lab, and radiology recalls.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a clinical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills is essential, with experience in electronic medical records, particularly eClinical Works, being advantageous.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills.
- A positive personality, patience, dedication, and enthusiasm are vital attributes for representing our office.
- Closed on Sundays and all major holidays.
- One-half Saturday per month is required on a rotating basis.
- Flexibility for a 4-day work week is available.
