JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: CLIENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

DIVISION: SERVICES

REPORTS TO: CLIENT SUPPORT SUPERVISOR

SALARY RANGE: $38,000 TO $52,000 PER YEAR

SUMMARY:

The Client Support Specialist evaluates the needs of clients, formulates actionable plans, connects clients to necessary services, and monitors their progress within a supportive environment. It is essential to ensure clients receive relevant information and referrals to secure and sustain housing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake and assessment to familiarize clients with the program and create tailored service plans that reflect their unique needs and objectives.
  • Engage with clients weekly to facilitate the achievement of their individual service plan goals.
  • Coordinate services with Housing Specialists, team members, and external partners to ensure a holistic approach to client support.
  • Advocate for clients regarding entitlements and available services.
  • Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling to empower clients in making informed life choices.
  • Document all case management activities in compliance with agency and funding guidelines.
  • Assist clients in completing housing applications, both manually and digitally, based on their specific circumstances.
  • Meet monthly placement targets as assigned.
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions, and provide client escort services as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance job-related skills.
  • Be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

A Master’s in Social Work (MSW) is preferred; however, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field, combined with five years of case management experience with homeless, mentally ill, substance-abusing, or low-income populations, will be considered. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek supervision. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
