Position: Accountant

Role Summary

TMG Operating LLC, a prominent management firm specializing in innovative technology solutions for the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a qualified Accountant. This position plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive accounting support across various business units and the corporate office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct general cost accounting and related tasks within the accounting department.
  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheets and income statements for evaluation.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Initially focus on Accounts Payable, with a preference for candidates possessing Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Code invoices, establish new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist in monthly closing processes.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and oversee accounts receivable collections.
  • Verify invoice payments associated with accounts payable and ensure accurate account charging.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and assist with annual tax returns.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior accountants and the accounting team as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles.
  • Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Availability for a standard work schedule.
  • Capability to mentor and train junior accounting staff.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience is necessary.
  • Experience in public accounting with manufacturing and construction clients is preferred.
  • Familiarity with external audits and annual tax return processes.
  • Management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in multi-company/division accounting is advantageous.
  • Accounts Payable experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
