Position Overview:
The Mortgage Servicing Specialist plays a crucial role in the management of mortgage servicing tasks. This position involves the meticulous review and analysis of loan closing documents, ensuring that all insurance coverage for properties is verified, and preparing accurate loan bookings. You will benefit from comprehensive training provided by seasoned professionals within the Merchants Mortgage team, all within a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and personal growth.   • Conduct thorough reviews of loan documents post-closing to guarantee completeness and precision.
  • Manage customer inquiries through dedicated Customer Service Lines.
  • Monitor and maintain all loan-related insurance requirements.
  • Confirm insurance coverage amounts in accordance with bank policies and local regulations.
  • Assist in managing tax and insurance payments for escrow accounts.
  • Verify tax and insurance payments for both escrowed and non-escrowed accounts.
  • Execute bookings for first mortgages and HELOCs on the servicing platform.
  • Analyze relevant data, address discrepancies, and propose necessary adjustments.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail related to mortgage servicing.
  • Generate and distribute late notices and monthly statements, and process payments accordingly.
  • Establish ACH plans based on customer authorization forms.
  • Prepare and issue payoff statements, and manage payoff proceeds.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the servicing manager.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in mortgage banking or a relevant educational background.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for excellent customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience in mortgage loan servicing and banking is advantageous.
