Job Title: Subsurface Utility Engineering Specialist

Are you interested in a career that combines technical skills with outdoor work? T2 Utility Engineers is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering Specialist to join our team in Ashland, VA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist our team in conducting utility investigations, using advanced technologies and equipment to locate and designate underground utilities. As a Subsurface Utility Engineering Specialist, you will work closely with our experienced team to provide quality data and professional insight to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators and non-destructive vacuum excavation
  • Conduct utility investigations using tools and equipment such as jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles, with a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Complete daily logs of work performed, including simple mathematics
  • Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance
  • Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities
  • Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in all climates
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
  • Good oral communication skills and attention to detail
  • OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
  • Prior utility related experience is a plus
