Job Overview

Position Title: Site Engineering Specialist

Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned professional consulting engineering firm, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Engineering Specialist.

(Full-time role at the Client's Worksite)

COMPENSATION RANGE
$65 to $85 per hour

This role is associated with a significant infrastructure project involving the implementation of green solutions in urban settings. The project encompasses various sustainable construction initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and leading construction meetings with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project management teams;
  • Supervising necessary field evaluations and assessments;
  • Ensuring that all required project permits are secured, maintained, and executed by the designated parties;
  • Overseeing the completion of daily site reports and other progress documentation;
  • Evaluating contractor payment requests and verifying documentation for completed work;
  • Participating in and documenting progress meetings and other relevant discussions;
  • Reviewing contractor schedules and providing updates on project timelines;
  • Assessing submissions and Requests for Information (RFIs);
  • Identifying changes in contract terms and determining their impact on pricing or timelines, while preparing necessary proposals and directives;
  • Coordinating inspection and testing protocols and tracking the resolution of noted deficiencies;
  • Creating and managing the project closeout checklist, including monitoring the status of corrective actions during the project conclusion.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction management;
  • Proficiency in construction management software, such as Primavera Unifier;
  • Experience with roadway projects in urban environments;
  • Background in sustainable infrastructure, stormwater management, or utility construction;
  • Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington, DC, or be eligible for licensure through reciprocity.

Work Environment
This position primarily involves office work (10% of the time), with significant fieldwork (90%) in varying weather conditions. Some physical lifting may be required as necessary.
