Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a Top Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 10 years of expertise in project planning, integrated master scheduling, and industry best practices within the intelligence sector.
  • Proficient in MS Project Web Access (MS Project Online), MS Project Server, or MS Project Professional, along with other scheduling analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management principles and reporting related to schedule performance.
  • Knowledge of agile software development methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Experience in integrating schedules from external contractors.
  • Skills in analyzing contractor schedules.
  • Competence in schedule risk and critical path analysis.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, managing pressure and tight deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to organize and summarize data, ensuring accurate records and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with customers, subcontractors, and other Maxar locations.

As a Master Scheduler in the Defense & Space sector, you will be responsible for the proactive coordination of engineering and software development projects, testing activities, and ongoing mission operations. Your role will involve constructing, maintaining, communicating, and implementing changes to program schedules, key milestones, and major deliverables within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for programs requiring Earned Value Management (EVM). You will have the authority to identify gaps in project plans, propose scheduling process enhancements, and ensure consistency across our proposal and mission schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Deployment:

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for programs with Earned Value Management (EVM) requirements.
  • Analyze and identify the program's critical path and driving paths to achieve specific milestones; effectively communicate these schedules to stakeholders.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of our Agile Software Engineering and customer operations to evaluate and suggest process improvements.
  • Assess the impacts of proposed changes to Program Schedules and Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).

Management:

  • Quickly grasp existing and upcoming projects, sequences, and constraints to resolve conflicts among various teams, including subcontractors, across multiple locations.
  • Facilitate weekly schedule reviews with Agile Engineers, DevOps, and Project Managers to ensure plans are current and accurate.
  • Document, coordinate, validate, approve, report, and manage schedule baselines and revisions to meet all contractual obligations.

Monitoring:

  • Identify gaps in project, integration, and software development plans.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis to determine program criticality and uncertainty.
  • Collaborate with Maxar program managers and technical leads to ensure program schedules are realistic and that key deliverables are completed on time.

Improvement:

  • Implement enhancements to scheduling processes and ensure consistency across proposal and mission schedules.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine scheduling tools and processes to identify, analyze, and present potential constraints regularly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with schedule performance reporting within the IPMDAR framework.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certifications are highly desirable.
  • Training or coursework in Critical Path Analysis methodology.
  • Experience in applying schedule risk analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple levels of program plans and schedules concurrently.
