Position Summary

The Senior Financial and Grants Analyst will collaborate closely with the Director of Grants Administration, providing essential analytical support to the Grants Department. This role involves assisting in the oversight of budget performance against actual expenditures for various programs, along with additional responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, renewal, and oversight of contract budgets.
  • Evaluate year-to-date financial performance of programs.
  • Create financial models to forecast revenue and expenses.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure proper setup of grants in financial systems for accurate tracking of expenditures. Maintain precise records of the Profit & Loss and related Balance Sheet accounts, regularly reviewing expense allocations for correctness.
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of new ERP systems or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Engage in contract and budget renewals across various funding sources.
  • Prepare and submit claims while overseeing grant managers to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to the Director, VP of Grants Administration, and CFO.
  • Supervise the daily activities of Grant Managers and step in as the team leader in the absence of the Director.
  • Manage audit inquiries and prepare responses for any issues raised during funder audits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in social services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including model creation and use of complex formulas.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics - NAV, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and planning applications.
