About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Policy Analyst to join our team at American Institutes for Research. As a Policy Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our Health Payment Innovation, Transformation, and Supports Program Area with inourHealth division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead tasks related to AIR Health's work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), including reviewing and interpreting regulatory and sub-regulatory guidance.
  • Develop and implement operational processes and standard operating procedures to support CMS, including managing client relationships and projects.
  • Collaborate with a team of policy analysts and technical assistance support staff to accomplish client-facing project/task milestones on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts and technical assistance support staff to develop their subject matter expertise and skills in policy analysis, interpretation, and implementation.
  • Develop and conduct presentations to government clients, and clearly communicate with clients, contractor staff, and other stakeholders orally and in writing.
  • Participate in business development activities, including writing technical responses and supporting federal and state capture planning activities.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in healthcare administration, health policy, public policy, public health, or a related field, with at least 4 years of full-time related consulting or policy-oriented professional experience.
  • Extensive familiarity with CMS, the ACA, and Medicare-specific value-based care policy and programs.
  • Experience with Medicare payment policy and Medicare program structure and operations.
  • Experience managing client relationships and managing projects.
  • Experience collaborating with and mentoring a team of policy analysts and technical assistance support staff.
What We Offer

American Institutes for Research offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $115,000, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
