Winrock International is in search of a Senior New Business Consultant to collaborate with the Human Rights, Education & Empowerment (HREE) division and its specialized teams. This role is crucial for providing additional capacity to meet immediate and mid-term demands related to essential business development functions, including leading proposals, facilitating design sessions, and collaborating with teams to formulate business development strategies.
The consultancy is structured for a duration of one year, with the possibility for mutual extension for up to two additional years, contingent on ongoing needs and funding availability. The consultant is expected to provide approximately 45 days of support throughout the consultancy period, with specific mobilization details coordinated by the AVP, HREE.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Assist in crafting the HREE business proposal strategy to align with USAID priorities, focusing on technical approaches, staffing, partnerships, and budgetary aspects.
- Facilitate collaboration with internal teams (including technical experts, finance, and operations) and external partners to gather insights, refine proposals, and ensure coherence across all proposal sections.
- Oversee proposal activities, providing guidance on strategic engagement with stakeholders, partnership development, results framework creation, and technical writing for designated sections.
- Lead the composition of critical proposal components, such as the technical approach, management plan, monitoring and evaluation framework, staffing plan, and budget narrative.
- Engage in proposal and capture activities as a technical advisor, contributor, or reviewer, closely collaborating with the AVP, HREE to ensure high-quality proposal submissions.
- Identify and connect with potential local and international partners, including subcontractors and consortium members, negotiating roles and securing commitment letters as necessary.
- Provide training and informational sessions on USAID procurement and budgeting processes, as needed and based on availability.
Deliverables:
- Proposal Strategy Document: A comprehensive outline detailing the proposal strategy, including technical approach, staffing, and budget considerations.
- Draft Proposals: Initial and revised drafts encompassing all required sections of the proposal.
- Final Proposal: A complete and compliant proposal submitted to USAID by the specified deadline.
- Post-Submission Report: A summary report of the proposal process, highlighting lessons learned and recommendations for future improvements.
