Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Sales Manager to join our team at Orion Engineering, Inc. in Kansas City. As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading sales efforts in the Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct sales calls to customers' offices or manufacturing plants to identify sales opportunities and build relationships.
  • Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers to qualify leads and sell products and services.
  • Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, including sales leads, cold calling, qualifying leads, developing leads, and customer service.
  • Meet or exceed territory sales goals and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers and provide product demos as needed.
  • Estimate delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of our production and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate customer training and build and maintain customers' relationships.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and enter new customer data and other sales data into our computer database.
  • Attend conventions, conferences, and trade shows as needed and perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university, with an engineering or technical degree a plus.
  • A track record of success in solution selling to industrial customers.
  • Experience with dust collection or air quality/filtration equipment a plus, or experience working and understanding the operations within the wood products or panel industry.
  • 5 years of outside selling experience and experience building business relationships.
  • High level of motivation, acute attention to detail, strong organizational skills, commitment to excellence, and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Competencies:
  • Computer skills - proficient in MS Office and experience using CRM systems a plus.
  • Customer Service - manages difficult or emotional customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance, and meets commitments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Frequently required to stand, drive multiple hours in a day, sit and work in office environment and on a computer, communicate via direct meetings, over the phone or electronically with employees and customers.
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items including sales materials, parts, and trade show items up to 40 pounds and travel to and work in customer locations that include active manufacturing environments.
