Position Overview:

The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of IT project teams, which typically encompass multiple disciplines within the IT domain. This role requires the application of expertise and leadership to guide staff and resolve challenges, ensuring that project objectives and requirements are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage project planning, execution, and closure, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  2. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact project success.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project approaches and develop comprehensive plans, including quality, risk, and communication strategies.
  4. Monitor project costs, timelines, and resource allocation, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  5. Facilitate project control solutions for effective planning, scheduling, and tracking.
  6. Provide guidance on project management methodologies and tools, promoting best practices.
  7. Support financial management by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting in budgeting processes.
  8. Analyze business processes to identify improvement opportunities and recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of five years in IT systems development, implementation, and maintenance is required, with at least three years in a project management capacity. Experience in an Agile Scrum environment is highly desirable. Relevant certifications such as PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) are advantageous. Familiarity with the utility domain, particularly in the context of US Electric Utilities, is preferred.
