Job Overview

Position Summary

As the Chief Operations Officer for the Print & Promotions Division, you will oversee and drive the operational strategies and growth initiatives of the business. We seek a candidate with extensive industry experience, a proven track record of P&L management, and leadership capabilities across customer service and production teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training and development plan for team members within your division.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within your area of responsibility, collaborating with Operational Excellence and technology teams to enhance processes and automation.
  • Guide and mentor your team to enhance sales proficiency, focusing on achieving results rather than merely quoting. Encourage value-added services, cross-selling across different sectors, and value engineering to secure wins.
  • Take full ownership of the Profit and Loss Statement for your division, ensuring that established vertical KPI targets (COGS, payroll, revenue, quality) are met or exceeded.
  • Engage in the issue resolution process as necessary.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities for direct reports, including timecard management, performance evaluations, coaching, hiring, and team development, ensuring effective management of pre-WIP activities.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to define and streamline contributions to daily operations and workflows.
  • Work alongside Sales and Marketing leadership to provide insights on sales programs that enhance lead generation, customer fit, retention, and profitability.
  • Partner with production teams to ensure clarity and standardization of work orders, responding promptly to inquiries related to WIP management.
  • Standardize business processes, policies, and procedures, including estimate and work order processes, communication protocols, and production methods, ensuring operational results align with these standards.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance internal production capabilities in Print, Promotional Items, and Apparel Decoration to reduce dependency on external vendors.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but a minimum of 5 years in Printing or a related field is required.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience with P&L responsibility is essential.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Proven business acumen with a successful history of achieving growth and operational objectives.
  • Technical Skills
    • Successful performance in this role requires a solid understanding of computers, data entry, internet navigation, Microsoft Office suite, and email applications.
  • Additional Qualifications
    • Ability to pass a background check.
    • Proficient in writing effective correspondence to customers and colleagues.
    • Vision capabilities necessary for this role include the ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, distinguish colors, and adjust focus.
    • Mathematical skills required include reading a ruler, calculating simple costs, and performing basic mathematical operations.
