Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to fill the role of a Full-Time Front Desk Person/Medical Assistant at OSSM. This dual position requires excellent administrative, clinical, and surgical scheduling skills in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist with patient inquiries, maintaining accurate records.
  • Insurance and Registration: Verify patient insurance information and process necessary paperwork, ensuring seamless registration and check-in processes.
  • Reception Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a professional environment.
  • Electronic Health Records: Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Surgical Scheduling: Coordinate surgical scheduling, ensuring all necessary pre-operative paperwork and clearances are obtained.
  • Exam Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies, ensuring a smooth patient flow.
  • Provider Support: Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring efficient patient care.
  • Surgical Coordination: Coordinate surgical procedures, liaising between patients, surgeons, and surgical facilities, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Pre-Operative Consultations: Schedule pre-operative consultations, tests, and appointments as required, ensuring timely preparation.
  • Post-Operative Care: Communicate surgical instructions and post-operative care information to patients, ensuring clear understanding.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with instructions and information about procedures, surgeries, and treatments, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Confidentiality and Communication: Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality at all times, responding to patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with medical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and office operations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment strongly preferred.
  • Surgical Scheduling: Experience with surgical scheduling and understanding of surgical procedures and requirements.
  • Electronic Health Records: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
