About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Development to join our team at the Center for Nonprofit Management. This is a hybrid work position that requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, individual donors, and vendors to secure in-kind, pro bono, and financial support.
  • Identify, qualify, solicit, and steward major donors to achieve revenue growth.
  • Manage the major donor portfolio in conjunction with the CEO and CDO.
  • Report on portfolio work both verbally and in writing.
  • Serve as a key member of the integrated strategy team responsible for mapping the organization's brand positioning externally.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience with major donors, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent communication (verbal and written), and self-motivation.
  • Proven record of securing and growing financial support.
  • Ability to establish and monitor timelines and resources needed to achieve goals/projects.
  • Experience working in a donor database, website, with online e-marketing tools, or comparable programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Ability to travel for work and be available for some nights and weekends.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years in fundraising with progressive responsibilities.
  • 3-5 years managing and directing, engaging, and motivating others, including team members and external parties.
  • 3-5 years managing and developing a team of direct reports; managing a Resource Development team preferred.

What We Offer

This is a hybrid work position that requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. The employee will be expected to be in the office at least two days a week: Mondays and one other day of the employee's choosing.
