SERVPRO of New Hanover is seeking a dedicated Sales/Estimator to contribute to our mission of restoring properties affected by fire and water damage.

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support throughout the restoration process. Your efforts will directly impact the lives of those we serve, making a significant difference every day.
We are looking for a candidate who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys engaging with clients, possesses outstanding communication abilities, and excels at managing multiple tasks. If you are self-driven and have excellent interpersonal skills, you will find this role fulfilling.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients for construction services.
- Guide clients through the construction process.
- Collaborate with clients to identify desired modifications and enhancements.
- Ensure that all estimates align with client specifications.
- Project Initiation
- Evaluate labor, materials, and time requirements for projects.
- Create detailed sketches and initial scopes of work.
- Provide accurate and consistent initial estimates.
- Identify project limitations and necessary upgrades.
- Collaborate with Project Managers for pricing of bid items as required.
- Project Planning
- Document and finalize the project scope of work.
- Engage with external resources to ensure accurate estimates (e.g., Structural Engineers, Inspectors).
- Compile organized and precise estimates.
- Communicate estimates effectively to Project Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in construction estimating or insurance adjusting.
- Proven track record in customer service.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced mathematical proficiency.
- Experience with Xactimate estimating software is essential.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Valid driving record is required.
Educational Background
- A degree in engineering, construction science, or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment
This role involves physical activity, including walking and standing throughout the day, frequent driving, and occasional ladder climbing. Employees may encounter varying environmental conditions, including heat and noise.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with standard working hours, though additional hours and weekend work may be necessary. Local travel is part of the role.
