We are currently seeking a dedicated Construction Estimator to become a vital part of our team at SERVPRO of New Hanover. In this role, you will play a crucial part in restoring properties affected by fire and water damage, ensuring that our clients experience a seamless recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients for construction services.
    • Guide clients through the construction process.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify desired modifications and enhancements.
    • Ensure estimates align with client specifications.
  2. Project Initiation:
    • Evaluate labor, materials, and time requirements for projects.
    • Create detailed sketches and initial scopes of work.
    • Provide accurate and comprehensive initial estimates.
    • Identify project limitations and necessary upgrades.
    • Coordinate with Project Manager for pricing on bid items as needed.
  3. Project Planning:
    • Document and finalize project scopes of work.
    • Collaborate with external resources to ensure accurate estimates.
    • Compile organized and precise estimates.
    • Communicate estimates effectively to the Project Manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in construction estimating or insurance adjusting.
  • Proven track record in customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient in Xactimate estimating software.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position requires walking and standing for extended periods, frequent driving, and occasional ladder climbing. Employees may encounter varying environmental conditions, including heat and noise.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time role, typically requiring 40 hours per week, with the possibility of extended hours, on-call duties, and weekend work.
