We are currently seeking a dedicated Construction Estimator to become a vital part of our team at SERVPRO of New Hanover. In this role, you will play a crucial part in restoring properties affected by fire and water damage, ensuring that our clients experience a seamless recovery process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients for construction services.
- Guide clients through the construction process.
- Collaborate with clients to identify desired modifications and enhancements.
- Ensure estimates align with client specifications.
- Project Initiation:
- Evaluate labor, materials, and time requirements for projects.
- Create detailed sketches and initial scopes of work.
- Provide accurate and comprehensive initial estimates.
- Identify project limitations and necessary upgrades.
- Coordinate with Project Manager for pricing on bid items as needed.
- Project Planning:
- Document and finalize project scopes of work.
- Collaborate with external resources to ensure accurate estimates.
- Compile organized and precise estimates.
- Communicate estimates effectively to the Project Manager.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in construction estimating or insurance adjusting.
- Proven track record in customer service.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced mathematical abilities.
- Proficient in Xactimate estimating software.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires walking and standing for extended periods, frequent driving, and occasional ladder climbing. Employees may encounter varying environmental conditions, including heat and noise.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role, typically requiring 40 hours per week, with the possibility of extended hours, on-call duties, and weekend work.
