Position Overview
Primary Talent Partners is seeking a skilled Construction Project Planner to support our esteemed energy client. This role is pivotal in managing the planning and execution of construction and maintenance tasks for transmission assets.

Contract Details
This is a full-time contract position with a duration of 12 months, offering competitive compensation ranging from $43 to $53 per hour on a W2 basis. Please note that this role does not include paid time off or benefits.

Work Schedule
The position follows a 4x10 work schedule, requiring presence in the office or field as necessary, typically 2-4 days per week. There may be opportunities for occasional remote work.

Travel Requirements
While per diem is not provided, reimbursement for overnight travel expenses and mileage to job sites will be available. Candidates should be prepared for travel that may involve driving up to 300 miles weekly.

Key Responsibilities
The Construction Project Planner will be responsible for:

  • Developing comprehensive work packages that outline the scope of work, required hours, necessary skill sets, and procedures.
  • Identifying special tools and equipment needed for tasks, as well as obtaining necessary permits.
  • Estimating project durations and scheduling resources effectively.
  • Documenting variances between actual and estimated work hours, and communicating with supervisors to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborating with various teams to coordinate high-priority projects and ensuring that all resources are aligned with the business strategy.
  • Participating in project planning meetings to clarify project scope and assign construction resources.
  • Monitoring ongoing projects and addressing any issues that arise during execution.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or 7 years in lieu of a degree.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree with an additional 6 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with work management systems such as Passport, MS Project, or MAXIMO.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Working Conditions
This role involves supporting multiple transmission substation crews, ensuring that work schedules align with strategic objectives. The Planner may also assist during emergency situations and must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
