Position: Senior Systems Engineer

Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for full-time employment

Industry: Aerospace and Defense

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in systems engineering within the aerospace sector.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
  • A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate high-level system requirements into effective design solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation and troubleshooting of various electronic sensors and components.
  • Familiarity with analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, power supply design, batteries, solar technology, RF systems, serial communication, and telemetry systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of systems engineering methodologies including requirements development, verification techniques, functional decomposition, and risk management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience with large-scale engineering systems.
  • Experience in designing and developing spacecraft hardware that has been flight-tested.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Matlab or Python.
  • Experience with harnessing and component packaging.
  • Familiarity with requirements management software (DNG or JAMA preferred).
  • Experience in product development from initial studies through to final design, manufacturing, and testing.
