Position Overview
As a Liaison Engineer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between engineering, production, materials, and quality teams while acquiring comprehensive knowledge of the manufacturing process in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely support to Production, Quality, and Materials regarding build-related challenges.
- Investigate and analyze issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to develop short-term engineering solutions and containment strategies to prevent recurring production line issues.
- Communicate the implications of engineering challenges and provide rework instructions to production teams.
- Supply clear and concise information to Kenworth Division Engineering for the implementation of long-term corrective measures.
- Relay chassis image modifications through verbal communication, email, and the online defect tracking system.
- Keep management informed about significant issues affecting production flow.
- Document build issues and corrective actions through a corrective action system, ensuring accurate part usage in the final chassis image.
- Conduct special studies or investigations as requested by the Liaison Supervisor or Resident Engineering Manager.
- Review upcoming builds to foresee and address potential production challenges.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications
- A four-year degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
- A background in manufacturing, fabrication, machine design, system design, or general industrial/machinery/mechanical experience is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with truck components and systems, as well as an understanding of bills of materials and selection logic.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMS-80.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours may be necessary.
