The Chief Engineer is accountable for all facets of facility management services and operations. This role serves as ABM's primary liaison for daily operational activities. The Chief Engineer will foster a culture of safety and reliability within the facility management sector. This position will also promote continuous improvement by encouraging learning and development among team members.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with both company and regulatory standards.
- Capable of operating or assisting in the operation of all heating and ventilation systems, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, fans, and siphons at the assigned site.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to undertake all assigned tasks.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders on technical matters, work scope recommendations, and failure analysis.
- May work across various engineering departments based on current operational needs.
- Provide engineering support across a diverse range of systems, maintenance programs, and operational engineering functions.
- Analyze and resolve design, operation, maintenance, performance, or repair issues related to vehicles and equipment.
- Approach problem-solving logically, define maintenance programs, and ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Review Service Bulletins (SBs) from manufacturers or component suppliers.
- Develop solutions, implementation plans, project justifications, cost/benefit analyses, and manage project execution while coordinating warranty recovery on applicable SBs.
- Organize and prioritize responsibilities to meet project deliverables, maintenance program adjustments, and technical specification updates.
- Collaborate with other operational teams to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and efficiency.
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a management capacity.
- Proven engineering skills applicable to various systems, maintenance programs, and engines.
- For service engineering roles, these technical skills are utilized for operational challenges rather than project-specific tasks.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and manage projects for regulatory compliance modifications.
- Strong verbal and technical writing skills are essential.
