The Lead Engineering Manager is accountable for all facets of facility management services and operations. This role serves as ABM's primary liaison for daily operational activities. The Lead Engineer will foster a strong commitment to safety and reliability within the facility management framework. This position will drive ongoing enhancements to operations by promoting a culture of learning and development among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safe practices and comply with company and regulatory standards.
  • Qualified to operate or assist in the operation of all heating and ventilation systems, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, fans, and siphons at the assigned site.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to complete all assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations.
  • May work across various engineering departments based on current operational needs.
Essential Functions
  • Provides engineering support for a diverse range of systems, maintenance programs, and operational engineering functions.
  • Must possess the ability to understand, analyze, and devise solutions for the design, operation, maintenance, performance, or repair of vehicles/equipment and their components.
  • Should approach problem-solving logically, define maintenance programs or configurations, and ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Review Service Bulletins (SBs) from manufacturers or component manufacturers.
  • Develop solutions and implementation plans, project justifications, cost/benefit analyses, and manage project implementation while coordinating warranty recovery on applicable SBs.
  • Organize and prioritize assigned responsibilities to meet deliverables for projects, maintenance program changes, and technical specification revisions.
  • Coordinate efforts with other operational groups to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience at a management level.
  • Engineering skill sets applicable to a variety of systems, maintenance programs, and engines.
  • For service engineering roles, these technical skills are applied to operational issues rather than project-specific work.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and manage detailed project management for regulatory compliance modifications.
  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills are essential.
